Letter to Americans- Wake Up! Obama Intelligence Appointee is BAD NEWS!

Another letter sent in- I hope people continue waking up! I sent this in the WND, and am hoping it will get readers thinking!

Americans,

We see it at the lower levels of government, and at the highest- the trampling of our rights. Herb in Clearwater is just one of millions of Americans who is fighting to lift the boot of the oppressors from underneath so he can just live his life without unlawful government interference with his rights! Obama has raised the stakes, appointing Chas Freeman, Former U.S. Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, lobyist, and defender of the Chinese actions in Tiananmen.

"the truly unforgivable mistake of the Chinese authorities was the failure to intervene on a timely basis to nip the demonstrations in the bud, rather than -- as would have been both wise and efficacious -- to intervene with force when all other measures had failed to restore domestic tranquility to Beijing and other major urban centers in China."

According to this new appointee, the unforgivable mistake was not using deadly force to kill somewhere between 241 and 2,600 protestors in crack-downs, but rather not squashing the demonstrations earlier!

America, please wake up to what is being done to you before it is too late!

We have seen tax-cheats and lobyists appointed after he promised "hope and change" and we have only grumbled about it. Appointing this man to be in charge of any Intelligence organization in the United States of America is more of the same abuse! A man in Florida faces fines for displaying the Constitution. What does our great nation face as a whole? This man thought the Chinese were too soft for allowing a protest to happen in the first place! Write angry and bitter letters such as mine! Show your contempt for the abuses your so-called representatives heap upon you. Rally, citizens, while you still have the right- before too many people like this are given control over your lives!

His story really struck a chord with me, and I really wanted to put corrupt politicians in their place. I'm sick of rights continuosly getting trampled on and nobody speaking up...so I wrote an angry letter. I had no idea I'd get top-notch media exposure over it! Letter follows:

ALCON,

Greetings from Iraq. As a Florida native, and veteran who took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic, I find it insulting that you would limit Herb Quintero's free speech with regards to the beautiful mural he had painted to spruce up his building. Also insulting are your fines and subsequent threats to fine the man for displaying the Constitution that guarantees his protection from this very sort of tyranny. I learned of his plight from reading the story on

You have no right to override the Constitution and the principals for which so many men and women have fought and died to uphold. YOU are in violation of the supreme law of the land, which supersedes some trivial contrary (and therefore illegal) code, and should immediately withdraw your fines and retract your flawed and invalid laws. As government representatives, you have a solemn duty to protect the people you are entrusted to represent, not oppress them. By enacting and then selectively enforcing such oppressive laws that violate the Constitution, you spit in the face of every veteran who has ever served to uphold the Constitution! Yes, I am this worked up over a painting of some fish; the rights in the Constitution are not something that should even be lightly infringed and tolerated! The founding fathers must be rolling in their graves over the affront to freedom you have committed in your persecution of this man who is merely attempting to live an American Dream by exercising his right to free speech- an attempt, it must be noted, that would increase commerce- which in turn would bring more tax dollars to the city should he succeed in his endeavors!

As a fellow American, who dearly values his rights and freedoms, I sincerely urge on you to cease and desist with your harassment of Herb Quintero; it would save the city money in the long run, and save yourselves further embarrassment and public outrage. Furthermore, I cannot imagine citizens willingly re-electing officials who would trod so heavily upon their fundamental and inalienable rights, so I urge you to refund this man's money and publicly declare your apology to him, and the citizens, at once.

Essentially, under the stimulus bill, the government will take complete control over the medical system and all treatment options, penalize those who don't want to submit, and mandates that people accept conditions rather than trying to treat them.

Key excerpts:

"The bill’s health rules will affect “every individual in the United States” (445, 454, 479). Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system. Having electronic medical records at your fingertips, easily transferred to a hospital, is beneficial. It will help avoid duplicate tests and errors."

"But the bill goes further. One new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions (442, 446)."

"Hospitals and doctors that are not “meaningful users” of the new system will face penalties. “Meaningful user” isn’t defined in the bill."

Wow. This IS truly frightening, and appalling! Here I was ranting about all the pork in the bill, like the $9 Billion for the broadband internet program... When is enough enough? Thank you, no. I do not want anyone tinkering with my healthcare or medication unless they are my doctor, and that's bad enough when it needs done! I certainly don't want the government screwing with it, throttling the amount of care I or any other citizen receives, or telling us "too bad" when there might be an alternative. When does it eventually become a political tool used to give substandard treatment to the opposition? Paranoid? Hardly. It's a nightmare as it is, but the potential for even more abuse is astronomical!

How dare they try to force this on the people through another media blitz of fear mongering? So much for hope and change! He's trying to make anyone who intelligently disagrees with him seem like a bad American!

17 states...scratch that... upwards of 27 have already drafted legislation to declare sovereignty, citing the 9th and 10th amendments, and calling on the federal government to cease and desist with the mandates. I wonder if any will actually pass. There's just so much "federal money" tied to everything. One can hope states will assert their rights, in order to protect the rights of the citizens

HR1- Fear You Can Believe In

I haven't posted in a while (has it been so long?). 14 months down. I don't think I'll be staying the full two years. There are a number of reasons, but draw your own conclusions why. Maybe I'll go into details someday... if we all aren't too busy at home.

I've just reviewed a small part of the bloated "Stimulus Package" on www.congress.gov It's right there under HR1 for all to read, but it's so incredibly thick with pork that there is no way anyone could ever read the whole thing, much less the hundreds of amendments. The "Hope and Change" has turned into a message of fear that “unless this package is passed, there will be a catastrophe.” The catastrophe, if it comes, will be spurred on by the very sort of proposals we find in this bill.

Obama wants to create 244,000 or so government jobs. People just hear “create jobs” and think it’s wonderful. The problem with that is, government jobs increase the burden on taxpayers. I have had "educated" people argue, "but government employees pay taxes too." A government employee pays taxes, but they are still costing taxpayers money because they are not taxed at 100% for obvious reasons. IF they pay taxes (unlike some members of Congress), then they are paying between 20% and 30%. Where do you think the rest of the money comes from? That's right. You! You are forced to pay other people's salary. When the burden is necessary, such as for funding the military, or other worthwhile programs we benefit from, we gladly pay our taxes (or at least we should). However, how does creating 244,000 or more government jobs help stimulate the economy and help reduce our debt? It doesn't. This is why people have been arguing for a smaller government for years. A smaller government is less of a burden, allowing people to get out of debt, and not dig deeper. By increasing government jobs and taking away from the private sector, and increasing taxes to cover the expense, you decrease the number of those paying taxes whose salaries are not entirely covered by tax dollars. Private salaries are fueled by commerce, so if the industry fails because of mismanagement, or because it was not something people wanted to buy into, the majority of the population is no worse off. However, by forcing citizens to invest into failed private enterprises (nationalizing), you increase the tax burden on them, and take it away from others.

Another argument for smaller federal government comes again in light of the federal government getting involved in areas best left to private business (Other than creating jobs in the above example). Let industries rise and fall as they may- that is the price of free enterprise. Bailing out and rewarding failure brought on by corruption increases the burden on the taxpayer. The government attempting to be more than simply government does that as well. Consider the $9 BILLION dollars proposed for increased broadband internet access. If people want faster internet, let the industry and the customers pay for it. If you pay for your own faster internet already, you will see even less money as your taxes increase to pay for programs the government was not designed to play a role in.

To deceive everyone, you will get a $500 or $1,000 tax credit. Other credits can be had, but these credits mean less money is going to pay for all of the multitude of programs your tax dollars funded in the bill. You could spend an entire day just wading through the individual headings, and not ever make it to the text. This sort of complexity in legislation was argued against by our forefathers. If and when the government creates legislation, it should be straight-forward, and “transparent,” to use the popular term. This bill is anything but transparent. The cost that most people are not made aware of, is that for every $1 brought in in taxes, this bill spends $4. The long-term costs will be exponential considering there is no plan for next year’s budget, much less to pay for these expenses- so we will continue to dig at a rate of 4 times worse than we already were.

As gargantuan as this pit that is HR1 is, it pales in comparison to the long term costs of continuing to “avert a catastrophe” by making the situation worse. In digging this pit, we are borrowing from not just ourselves, but piling a huge burden (that only increases with time) onto the backs of future generations, and heading down a path that will lead to the destruction of America, and destabilize the world as we know it, leading to war, famine, plague, and death. Continuing to rob from citizens to inflate government control, which results in ever growing burdens on the citizenry, is tyranny, plain and simple. A government that prints more money to pay itself is not a self-contained system; the livelihood of the populace must be tapped to support it. You will become a slave to this ever-growing-pit if this sort of “stimulus” plan is enacted.

11 Months in Iraq. A year and change to go?

I've been deployed 11 months now. That's 11 months of walking a mile to work. 11 months of the tiny shoebox of a room. 11 months of putting up with hearing the news tell everyone how awful things are here. I'm sick of it... and I'm ready for another year (with a vacation home first!!!). The biggest disappointment is feeling betrayed by the American people, but you can read about that anywhere. You'll be experiencing your own betrayal over the next 4 to 8 years... no, for now, I want to set the record straight.
I don't write here much anymore because I've been busy. 12 hour days makes you not want to sit down in front of the computer to relive some of the BS, but some things need said.
11 months ago, I wondered what I was getting myself into. We were getting mortared countless times a night- I've had them land a block away. Talk about an earth-shaking event.... Well, after the surge, that pretty much tapered off. I still walk to work and hear some machine gun fire off in the distance, and there are still the occasional booms, but things have been getting MUCH better, and it's nowhere near as bad as it was! I get told the same thing first-hand from all over Iraq from people who have been here multiple times, or spent a few years here! Yes, bad things still happen in a war-zone, but if we leave prematurely, things will fall apart and get much worse.
We are here to help build a secure and stable country. It's not something that can happen overnight, or even in a few years, and it's not something cheaply bought either- especially with a patient and determined religious insurgency. Who was elected changes nothing- a timetable is STILL A BAD IDEA! It is handing the enemy the plan, and giving them more power by allowing them to claim victory. Every time someone in America proposes our retreat, they cheer- because to them, for so few to overpower the resolve of, and drive off the greatest nation- that fuels their religious ferver and drives up their recruiting!

Most people don't care though, they would rather spit on the sacrifices of those who would lay down their lives for their freedom. No??? They did that at the polls. Why? They were told to. They were sheep for the media. Never doing their own research, or looking deeper than what looked and felt good. "Hope" and "Change" are such pretty words... Well, I HOPE the sheep CHANGE into sheepdogs before too long, or the freedoms they took for granted will vanish as they have done every moment in history when something similar occured when the wolf was cheerfully given free reign.
The price of proclaiming defeat in Iraq is great, but the price of defeat we pay at home in America will be greater if all is lost.
Benjamin Franklin said we had a republic if we could keep it... Can we? I pray so. Time will tell.
I hope I will be granted the opportunity to continue to contribute to the mission here, because I know I am part of something meaningful, and though my absentee vote did not count, being here counts for something- I've seen the faces of smiling children- boys and girls who will hopefully get to grow up knowing the same freedoms you and I did. The people here lived under tyrants for so long... I hope that with their newfound freedom they will not take it for granted like so many American people have come to do... but they must be given a chance. We will leave when they are ready to stand on their own, but that means more sharing, training, time, and patience.

The elect recently stated he would overturn President Bush's decision on embryonic stem cell research. People cheered. Are they in that much of a hurry to kill babies for research? There are OTHER SOURCES OF STEM CELLS! Does the media tell you this? No. Do your own digging... The elect wants to put in an express lane at the abortion clinics, so perfectly healthy late-term babies can be killed- some even at the stage where they would survive outside the mother's womb with a little help! All babies need help to survive! How sick and LOST can you be to choose someone like that to lead you? Yet I'VE been called a baby-killer (for wearing a uniform) before...

Everyone for Obama cannot explain the logic when presented with facts. Obama is a liar or an idiot (though I am inclined to believe he's a liar) about being unaware for 20 years that his most trusted advisor and pastor was a raving, racist, lunatic. We need neither a liar or idiot in the White House, and out of millions of Americans, could certainly do better than a cocaine junkie (go ahead and bash Bush all you want, it simply doesn't counter my argument about what we need, and just makes you look dumb). He's stated he wants a national police force as well funded and equipped as the US military (look to history on where this leads), he is for late term abortions (where the baby could live outside the womb with help, which all babies need anyway), and for not providing medical care to babies that survive the horrific procedure, etc. I have outlined all this and more on MY blog, but because I'm not a recovering junkie and burned out pop-star, I doubt I've got as many followers and hangers-on as you, Lindsay Lohan... but I HAVE studied Political Science. I HAVE served my country and AM currently deployed in Iraq where I HAVE personally seen the difference the surge made! I AM a former Sr. International Security Specialist and I at least know what on earth I am talking about and can back things up when I say that the "feel-good" things Obama has spoken about would lead our nation to destruction in the long-run (oh, it sounds real good in the short-term, to the short-sighted like you). What are you and what did you do with your life so far? Star in a Herbie movie and do drugs... Now you're acting like some political expert? I feel sorry that you, like so many others who have been misled, but all you are doing is using your celebrity status to illogically push more people down the wrong road. I lament that you chose to squander your fame and fortune on drugs and misleading people. I'm only 5 years and change older than you, so I know there's still time for you to buckle down and get some real-world experience, but unfortunately, you're probably not eligible to join the military because of your drug background which makes you untrustworthy to hold a clearance for your total lack of discipline and regard for the law! If you wouldn't even be trusted to serve our country, then why do people pay attention to you when you write garbage on your blog? I'll tell you the only reason- because you are a celebrity in the media spotlight, not because anything you say has any true merit. That is the ONLY reason anyone listens to you... and it's an empty reason, void of any real meaning, and I'm sorry- your only followers, are hangers-on who don't really care. They don't care what the truth is because they're blinded by hero-worship because to them, your fame and fortune is something they admire over the truth... so hopefully, you'll do a little digging, find the truth, develop some humility, and publicly renounce all the nonsense you've been spouting. It's a long-shot, but I have to hope there's something worth salvaging in every misled human being- some redeeming quality. I have to hope that once you see the truth, you'll realize you were wrong, and admit it.

Obama has never done anything other than vote present! How does that make him more qualified than McCain, much less than Palin who Obama gets compared to, who has at least executive experience? Obama has been running for president longer than he's been in Congress... How dare he give a back-handed compliment by saying Palin is an "up and coming politician" like she is beneath him. How sexist can one get? She already reached the highest office in her state! Yet, she gets mocked- while Obama has been worshiped by the likes of you.

As far as attacking Palin's Christianity. If she's a Christian, she LOVES everyone, but cannot condone actions that the Bible says are sinful. That doesn't make her a homophobe. You need wake up, step down from your pop-culture cloud, and ground yourself in reality before you go slinging mud about an issue (or person) you know little about. She is entitled to her freedom of religion, so don't persecute her for it and become the very monster you THINK you see in others (maybe that's a little guilt manifesting itself in you, and rather than deal with it, you project the blame onto others). Palin is actually the most "anti-corruption" politician our nation has seen in a while, and that's what we need in Washington! There are 3 types of people in this world: Sheep, Wolves, and Sheepdogs. Another Rant on Obama

Sadly, nowhere is the utter lack of concern for the people more evident than in Obama- the supposed representaive who has been running for president longer than he's been in Congress- the person who never voted anything other than "present" on any issue. Yet somehow (because of our fine education system and the media who don't let people think long-term or critically), people are duped into following him- just as I predicted they would be (before Obama ever stepped into the limelight)- as sheep before the slaughter. I knew it could have been and would be anybody mouthing the same empty words of "hope" and "change" in a rock-star-like distracting manner. It was just a matter of time before someone like him came along to fill the void, captured people's attentions, and had them thinking that more government control over every aspect of their lives was a good thing.

He's managed to put a positive spin on raising taxes to support the rest of the world, to engender a feeling of sympathy (among the far left) towards terrorists, putting restrictions on speech, stating that a national police force whose ranks would be filled from his PC activist programs and funded and equipped as good as the military would be a good thing, and he's convinced people that he is worthy to lead them despite being either an idiot or a liar (in regards to his supposed ignorance about the blatant racism of his close friend and mentor of 20 years- I'm still betting on liar).

It's sad to see that my analysis was correct, and that such a person came along sooner than I had imagined... but I also figured out approximately 6 months ago that McCain HAD to pick Palin if there was to be any true hope of fighting corruption and preserving freedom- so there is still some hope of getting off the slippery slope we are on. It's going to take a concerted effort on the part of believers AND/OR conservatives to push back the assault on our way of life. McCain himself wasn't always a very good conservative voice in Congress, but with Palin behind him, we'll be in better shape.

Well that's enough of my ranting, I had to walk a mile through a dust storm yesterday and it got me sick, so I took a nyquil which is now kicking in... time to zonk out till tomorrow morning. blah.

Sarah Palin VP!!!

Hello all! I don't usually take the time to post as much as I should anymore- between working 12 hour shifts in Iraq, and doing other things, I've been strapped for time, but I REALLY wanted to write something when I was coming out of the chow hall and saw that Sarah Palin was finally chosen as the VP for McCain.

I've been rooting for her for months and months! She's anti-corruption- so much so that the Republican party even shunned her for trying to clean things up... but she won hearts and minds and was elected Gov of Alaska anyway! She is completely pro-life, and has a special needs child. Her oldest child is enlisted. She knows the truth about where they want to drill in Alaska- in a wasteland!!! She is conservative. She's not associated with the old regimes, and being anti-corruption, is solid proof that America has been heard.

For quite some time I wasn't fond of McCain, but I think perhaps he had to toe the party line- but choosing Sarah Palin has been the most logical choice all along, and I have newfound respect for him for thumbing his nose at the establishment. He knows he may or may not survive, so he's doing a heroic act in ensuring that the first person in line to be president after him is as honest a politician as the country has seen in some time. He's also ensuring that the odds are better that the first female president would be that person, and not someone like Hillary Clinton.

I won't have to hold my nose when voting for him because I know Sarah Palin will be watching, ensuring that there is not going to be any corruption or manipulation that people fear. This is certainly a much better alternative to Obama and Biden- both extremely corrupt and bad for the long-term best interests of the United States!

God Bless the USA, and good luck to McCain and Palin!!! I know there are some people, most notably those at WND who advocate a "NONE OF THE ABOVE" ticket, and Farah produced a pretty convincing argument- but I pray that he will change his tune now that Palin is going to be on the ticket! This can make or break the country, and we need to ensure Obama is not given power. He would surely lead to some dark times- times which I fear our nation would not survive should he attempt to enact even half of what he has proposed.

Calling Obama to Task- Do Not Cheapen Our Sacrifices!

How dare he disgrace the sacrifice of the men and women of our armed forces! That he wants to meet with terrorists, but can not find the time to hear the truth from our lips-that we ARE winning despite the roadblocks he and his ilk in that lofty body of Congress have set in our path- is repulsive to me, and I pray just as repulsive to my fellow Americans when it comes time for them to cast their votes.

Mere days ago, a brave man was awarded our nation's highest honor for sacrificing his life, that others might carry on the fight. That he would do that, and that it would be recognized shows that there is still hope for America- and I can but only hope the people of our great nation see through the lies and deception in the media- see through his lies and faithlessness to the principals which make our country great- so that our nation will not continue to fall under his spell as the media has portrayed it thus far.

That he would belong to a church for 20 years, to claim the pastors as his close advisers, yet to also claim to be unaware of the vile hatred that spewed forth from their lips, profaning a house of God, means he is either an evil liar and unfit to be our president, or that he is incredibly lost and ignorant, and unfit to be our president.

The terrorists have plainly stated their goals, and any negotiations with them can not be trusted- as it is their belief that breaking treaties with non-muslims is perfectly acceptable behavior. He says our sacrifices are pointless when we bring light to the darkness and end generations of brainwashing- if anything is pointless, it is his proposed negotiations.

When America was young, we paid tribute to Islamic terrorists- our early leaders said enough was enough and created the US Navy to do battle against them. "Millions for defense, not one cent for tribute!" Such is the resolve of the American spirit when it knows what it is up against. Here is a much needed history lesson for him, and you my fellow Americans, and the rest of the free world:

Do not think to cheapen the sacrifices we make by traitorously negotiating away all we have worked for. It failed then, and it would just as surely fail now with eve more lives forfeit to the folly.

America, should you wish to remain free, do not cast your vote for this silver-tongued man. His hypnotic message of change would mislead you down a path of destruction through the surrender of your freedoms in the guise of political correctness, or "fairness" and "hope" or some other term used to make you feel good on the path to national death! Do not let our nation as we know it sputter and die while we fight for its future on foreign soil. Improvements can be made without retreat. Changes can be made that do not require an increase in government controls and abuses. We are abroad fighting against the very sort of absolutist control that the extremist left Obama represents would surrender us to in the long run.

The Tree of Liberty is being watered with the blood of patriots and tyrants- do not uproot it as it grows (just as neighborhoods and markets here reopen)! Do not kill it at home either, for the price of our freedom has been paid by our ancestors, and is being paid here, right now as we face barrage after barrage without falter- for make no mistake, if our troops were not defeating terrorists here in Iraq, you would be fighting them in your streets at home! That time may yet come should we be forced to withdraw without crushing the enemy, as it has elsewhere in the world where radical islam was allowed to flourish, so remain vigilant!

Just because someone was a hero like
McCain, doesn't mean they can turn liberal/socialist
and still deserve our support to become president.
Huckabee is the last conservative left running, and will
serve the long-term best interests of America. Even
if he stays in and loses with dignity he does good by
getting his voice heard on our behalf- just like
Hunter and Tancredo got us fired up about security. I refuse to listen to "toe the party line" and "do what's best for the party" anymore because it's a bunch of crap. What is best for the Republican party, and the nation, would be to stand firm for our conservative ideals- not compromise them by reaching out to the liberal extremists by acting like a liberal.

Huckabee's got my vote because he's the most conservative in
the running, and I won't surrender my principals for
the lesser of two evils, just because some big-media
pundits and their sheep followers want me to. It is my right and no RINO is going to tell me otherwise, even if they are in the majority. My mom always said stand up for what you know is right, no matter what- and that's the sort of thing America seems to have lost the ability to do. Why must it always be about compromise when what is right and what is wrong are clear as night and day.

I won't vote for someone who would enact
the same things as Obama or Clinton, but sneak it past
America because lots of sheep think he's a Republican. It goes way beyond the religious factor for me. Is Huckabee perfect? No, but he is the most firm on the most important issues, and that is what is important to me.

It is an insult and a disgrace to
American freedom to discourage us to vote our
conscience for someone who stands up for the real
important issues and has real plans for what's best for America- not just sound bites and compromises that make socialists happy while we go down their slippery slope!

I Got a Trailer!

It's been a LONG month+ in that tent, but it's finally
over, and at least it wasn't 4 months like they originally thought. 
Not a minute too soon either!  People were
ignoring the "no-eating in the tent" rule and it got
infested with bugs and I was getting eaten alive every
night.  The day I found out I had finally gotten to
the top of the list for a trailer, I came back on a
lunch break to drop off laundry to find a note saying
that everything in there had to be inspected and the
mattresses and the wooden bunks were to all be burned.

I was able to take some clothes after I inspected
them, but the majority had to go for "medical" laundry
where they scald them just in case a bug is hitching a
ride.  Sounds good until they tell me that they only
pick up on Monday and drop back off on Saturday.
Since it was Tuesday when I dropped them off, it means
I won't have my most of my stuff for about 2 whole
weeks!  After inspecting every inch of my clothes
inside and out and putting them in a plastic bag I
went to the BX and bought another sheet set and a
blanket in case the heater breaks (with my luck
lately, it probably would have if I didn't buy the
blanket).

Tonight I'm stuck at work late (no overtime here
folks), but thankfully it's relatively slow so I can
type this out in advance and post it when I get back
to my trailer.  :-)  I'd like to at least be able to
enjoy my new trailer since I have to walk between
30-45 minutes (uphill each way in the mud) to get to
and from work now...  ;-) 

We shouldn't have to fight al-qaeda much longer, if at
all... I mean, now that Osama said he's sorry, and his
son called him a nice guy, the bad guys will start
improvising hugs instead of explosives and we'll all
live happily ever after in some delusional politically
correct fantasy... right?

*yawn* See, you can tell I need sleep! I hope everyone

Historic Event! First Christian Band to Tour Iraq: Third Day!

Last night was amazing- with all the bad news in the media it was encouraging to get to see something non-PC happen, and not something little either!

Third Day, for those who don't know, is probably THE best contemporary Christian band there is (and that's not just my humble opinion)- they've had many number one hits, a platinum disc and video, and a Grammy. They are now also the first Christian band to receive an invite from the USO, and thus the first Christian band to Tour Iraq! The location was packed and everyone got caught up waving their hands and singing along.

Diversion: Scrubs

Sorry, no new pic for this post, though I have a couple new ones I'll try to get on here in the next couple days. I've been watching Scrubs in my spare time thanks to some generous soul who uploaded it to a shared drive. It's such a great series (BIG praise coming from a sci-fi and fantasy fan)! So far I've watched every episode in order up to early season six! I don't know what I'm going to do when I finish the collection. I still have most of a year (or two) to go! AAAARRRRRGH!

It's been a great diversion though- and since it's really hard to get out and make friends when you're working 12 hour shifts and you've been sick, I feel like I'm best buds with J.D. and Turk. Sad, I know...

Monkeys keep flinging poo over the fence and it makes an awful noise when it lands, but thankfully I'll have a bit more shelter (or the illusion of) than currently provided by my tent- (and a bit more room) when I get a trailer sometime in the coming week (disclaimer: estimate only, no guarantee)! Thankfully some spaces have been opening up and I'm making my way through the line at a good speed!

Oh, and mostly over being sick! :-)

I can't believe I finally got a pic up (and the same day someone said something about it too)!
I took this before the weather turned to crap. This is Al Faw palace. The water surrounding it is a man-made lake created in a couple months. And people say the US blows money on silly projects. Why, I bet a certain politician in Alaska is just dying to have one of these built as a bus stop (with your tax money). ;-P

It actually snowed here in Baghdad for the first time in decades just a couple days ago- unfortunately no pics of that... I have been slogging through mud ever since. Odd that you don't think you'll encounter that in Iraq. Oh well...

I think part of the problem with posting pics is that the internet here is a very temperamental thing. Sometimes you get lucky and the bandwidth genies smile favorably upon you. Other times (most usually), random sites like Blogger, Youtube, or even Yahoo, don't load properly. Trying to get anything to load is like magically being transported back into the 80's- only instead of my machine telling me "please wait" (a few minutes or an hour) it "times out" instead and I have to start the frustrating process all over. Well, that's it in a nutshell. I'm taking my nyquil and zonking out now since I've been sick.

Note: If you ever go somewhere exotic, like Iraq in the winter, and your company, or the Army tells you you don't need to pack a sleeping bag because linens will be provided at your destination, don't pay any attention! The heater in your tent WILL break on the coldest frackin' night, and you will be shivering in your jacket and running to the BX the next day only to learn they are closed for inventory. You will survive, congratulate yourself for not getting sick like everyone else, then promptly get sick a couple days later. Murphy and his stupid law strike again.

PS- WHAT IS UP WITH ALL THE NEWS ABOUT HILLARY AND OBAMA??? GET OUT THERE AND MAKE SOME CONSERVATIVE NOISE! I DO NOT WANT TO COME HOME TO THE UNITED SOCIALIST STATES! GOT IT?

Merry Belated Christmas From The Sandbox

I'm sure "it's good to be the king," but it's amazing how fast the king can fall. His brainwashed and power-hungry followers are still lobbing mortars in our direction... scrambling in vain to take back control.

Christmas was a long day, and so was the next. I really need to try to get more sleep, but I wanted to write now that I'm finally up and running again. Out of concern for OPSEC (Operations Security for you non-military types), I can't discuss any details or specifics about what I do, where I am... or even info about attacks I've made it through other than to say, yes, I do hear fire from time to time, and in the past couple weeks I've felt a few shakes (there's a lot of sand here, and I don't want to let the enemy know if he's close or not to my patch of it!)... I'm sure you understand, but I will try to post pics of some sites from time to time, and keep you posted on morale and some feel-good stories like the following:

I wasn't able to get my address to my family in time to get anything from them for Christmas, but a group of ladies working somewhere in Florida made stockings and sent them over filled with toiletries and goodies- and a hand knitted watch cap! I got handed the stocking by a general. :-)

The best present though was a random letter from a girl in high school, who told of how her father recently died of cancer and how she wanted to be strong for her family... she then went on to thank us for our service, for our bravery and strength, and said how she didn't think she would be mentally strong enough to do something like this. I wrote her back saying she already was. She called us heros, but anyone who can face what she faced, and have the courage to face the situation, and make the decision to be strong for the family is a hero in my book.

She said we gave her hope for the future, but she was an inspiration. Reading her letter reminded me of why I'm here- to help out in some small way, to be a part of something in hopes of making a difference for people.

Before I was here, I was in Washington DC where thousands of people marched chanting hateful things about the troops and those serving- and it seemed like every time I watched the news there would be more discouragement. Just hearing her thanks made everything I've been through and everything I will go through worthwhile because it is a reminder that people back home really do care, and they pay enough attention to know that we really are trying to do good things- and succeeding!

I want to send a special thanks to Souljourner for sending me a copy of their cd to enjoy. I got it today and have really enjoyed it- and know I will continue to! They're on myspace, so go look them up and sample some awesome music!

Stuck in Limbo

It's a cold and dreary day in Iraq. I'm still on hold waiting for a paper to clear so I can get a badge. The good thing is, it's some down-time... The bad thing is, there's not much to do. I managed to get my laundry dropped off today. That's something I guess! Oh, and I'm still alive after a couple booms. ;-) No worries.

I'm not looking forward to moving into a crowded tent or anything, but at least it would get me out of the transient room, depending on someone for a ride to and from chow.

Perfume Palace, Iraq

Here's some pics of where I was supposed to work. The Perfume Palace, so called because it's where Saddam kept his women. Evidently they want me working in the bigger palace- Al Faw. I'll post some pics of that when I get a chance. Yep, that's a man-made lake. There's a lot of them. Saddam sure knew how to blow his money, but you know what? He still wound up hiding in a hole, then being buried in one anyway.

Bad news is, I'll be staying in a big tent for at least a month, maybe as many as 2-3. :-(

I'm asking for a non-snoring tent this time though! BWAHAHAHAHA. I need sleep! Sleeping with earplugs sucks, so I'm hoping I can hit the PX and pick up some muffs or something. I could always order some online via Amazon and get them in a few days- of course by then I might just go crazy for lack of sleep.

Not sure how much I'll be able to get online after the next day or so, since I've got to move down in the world before I can move up- though I hear there might be an internet cafe I can visit... I do know I'll appreciate sharing a small trailer with "just one other person" a lot more after sharing a tent (again).

Since I only get a half-hour on the comp I'm going to try to upload a pic of me at Ft Benning getting ready to head out, and see if that blows the rest of my time on this slow connection! If not, maybe tomorrow... or soon. :-)

Tomorrow is my last full day in Fl with family, then I'm off for out-processing. It all feels surreal, but seeing my mostly packed duffel is a reminder that in a very short time I'll be living a totally different life... a good thing too, cause I've packed on a ton of weight the last few weeks between everyone wanting to take me out to eat! Oh well, I hear I'll have plenty of time to work out, and not much else...

I heard they charge for internet in the rooms- a rate of about $75 a month for what I hear is "worse than dial up," so something tells me I'll be trying to post from a net cafe instead, but we'll see!

Well, that's all the time I can spare for now- just wanted to drop in. :-)

Getting Ready to Head Out

Dang, I forgot how much I hate moving (and all the dust that gets stirred up when you pull out things you can't bear to throw out, just so you can pack them away safely to repeat the process sometime in the future, if only so you can look at them once or twice a year for memory's sake)...
The crazy things people attach sentimental value to, or lug around with them to "sort through when I have time." There's never time!!!

I find myself looking forward to the long flight and the 12 hour shifts I'll be working in the sandbox, just knowing I'll get some "down time" for a change with no major errands to run when I'm "off the clock" other than dropping off laundry and picking it up.

We've got most of the apartment packed, but still a ways to go. I've hired some help to load the truck on Sunday in hopes of speeding our departure and hitting the road at a decent hour. If they're late/don't get done at a decent hour, well, at least we won't be as exhausted before heading out for the long drive (we hope)...

I still have some paperwork to do, but that shouldn't be too difficult once I wrap my brain around the concept of doing something other than putting my stuff in boxes to await my return. It sucks knowing that I'll be carrying everything I'm taking with me on my back in just a couple short weeks, but on the bright side, I've got it a million times better than my great grandfather- aside from my better, modern, gear (sans Enfield rifle) and an enemy who can't aim worth a crap, I'll hopefully have a laptop loaded with pictures of family, pets, music, "literature," and the ability to reach home near real-time. So, while things are no doubt going to be difficult, they could be a lot worse... they are in fact not that bad when you put it in perspective!

There's a fine line between trying to pack everything you might need, and being paranoid to the point of weighing yourself down with all sorts of crap- so far, if it looks useful, it's gone in a box marked "Iraq" for me to sort out later. Between the list of mandatory things to take, some people's helpful suggestions, and my own gear, I've "filled" the box. Compression sacks/vacuum bags are going to come in handy making more room (and cutting bounce and rattle), especially with all the mandatory winter gear (but no help with eliminating weight)- so once I get a chance, I'll go through everything one more time and eliminate every excess ounce I can (note to self: ditch big full shaving cream can for travel-sized). At some point you've got to say enough is enough when you have to lug 2 duffels, a loaded"go-bag" (backpack), and a laptop who knows how far. Sure, you can "suck it up and drive on" (been there, done that) but there's no point wearing yourself out .

I've got a couple posts "in draft" to publish, but other than that I'm just doing everything I can to make sure I tie up all the loose ends and accomplish everything I need to so my wife can have as easy a time as possible with me on the other side of the globe for at least a year...

I wish I had more time to get things done and hang out with the friends I've made, and spend quality time with family- but they said they need me ASAP, so I'll just be thankful for the time I've got!

TSA- They Screwed up Again!

Almost 2 Dozen Illegals with fake badges working at O'Hare International Airport.

I'd like to note that this takes place after TSA tells me I'm not qualified to manage security at a relatively small airport, (after I identified ways to beef up security without harassing people, and ensure those working there were legit... which would have kept this garbage from happening).

I got a much better job offer from the Air Force that I unfortunately had to put on the back burner for a year or two while I'm in Iraq working for the Army... My orders state that I'm "mission essential" to OIF. Maybe they see something in me that TSA overlooked... then again TSA seems to overlook a LOT of things (employees not badging in, criminal illegals with fake badges- no doubt just here for the jobs, fake bombs, the scary islamic dude they have working security and stopping only nuns, etc). Yeah, I'm not PC, but I get the job done right.

Sure, they were here for the jobs, living the American Dream (that is, if smuggling who-knows-what is the American Dream)! DEEEEEEEPORT!

Of "Mercenary"/ Contractor Pay/Status

I was looking for family support services for contractors deployed to Iraq and didn't find much.

What I did find was apalling in that it's mainly moonbat attacks against contractors being evil money-grubbing mercenaries.

Let me set the record straight, yes, the pay is better than we got in the military. The key word there is military. We've already signed our lives away at some point- were willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice doing the jobs others wouldn't step forward to do- and survived. Unless you've got some vital experience or military training and discipline, chances are you aren't going to wind up a defense contractor. When we leave the military, our options are often slim, "society" thinks they don't need us anymore, and we lose the level of trust and responsibility we once had.

Everyone knows the military (benefits aside) doesn't pay much for what it asks of you (whether you sit in the office or serve on the front, you placed the needs of the country above yours meaning you could be sent anywhere, anytime, to do anything), and when you get out, yes, you have the ability to put your military service on your resume. Most of America doesn't know what that means, and sadly many don't care.

Officers make more than enlisted, but it still doesn't compare to the civilian sector of the outside world. Working as a contractor is often only way to again put our unique skills to use and begin to make up for what we weren't able to earn while in uniform. It helps us provide for our families, pay for a medical procedure the VA won't cover, or anything else we want to do because this is a free country because of the fact people wore the uniform, so don't look down on our continued service. Plainly: Even though we're not wearing the uniform and we're getting paid more, we're still dedicated professionals, and still serving!

So don't look at contractors as dirty- ignore the media. We're mostly veterans who still have something to contribute, and are getting paid for it. The left is so fast to give away hard-earned tax-dollars to illegal criminals, but never thinks about the Americans sticking their necks out to make sure this nation continues to exist. What does it matter if I make a little more money now? This is a free country and I'm still contributing to the system- definitely more than most of those mooching off of the hard work of others and griping without doing anything to make this country better (but have the nerve to march in the streets calling for more dead troops)!

Keep another thing in mind- our oaths never expire, so while we may somehow be serving corporate interests by working on a particular contract in support of the U.S. government or multinational forces, our duty is still to the Constitution.

I'M GOING TO THE SANDBOX!!!

I don't know how often I'll be able to post in the near future, and up to a year or two (I'm hoping I'll at least be able to check in from time to time). I'm heading to the sandbox- I let a few of you know it might be coming... Now some might say I'm doing it for the president's amusement. Ha! Others might pray for my demise (well, my God can beat up your god, so ha again!). However, if you're reading this, you probably already know the truth. I'm doing it to make a difference and help people, I'm doing this for my family, and at least half of a country, and I'm doing this to in some small way contribute to a great cause: FREEDOM.

Perhaps my favorite hero of history, or one of them at least, Lafayette (a possible relation, I'm told by my grandmother), heard about the concept of liberty and the plight of a struggling nation caught in a revolution. He heard the tales of hopelessness and offered not only his fortune, but himself, knowing the possible outcome and the overwhelming odds he would face.
He turned the tide of battle more than once, bringing victory and freedom to a nation that was, and still is, grateful for his devotion to its birth (even if his name is dropped from the history books). He was friend of all the founders, an "adopted son" of Washington, and America. He took up as his personal motto and family crest, "Cur non" meaning, "Why not?" Why not indeed?!?!

I had family in the Revolution, some fought in the civil war, my great grandfather was in WWI, carrying a British Enfield rifle and marching all over lands he wasn't from. He was mustard gassed 5 times and lived to tell of it. His story is truly amazing (I got a copy of his diary from his time overseas). My grandfather followed suite and at Pearl Harbor dove into flaming waters to rescue a dozen men. My father in law was in Vietnam, lost all his friends, and returned home to an ungrateful nation.

Nothing I face will likely be so harrowing (I've already faced down some anti-troop folks, and I know they don't represent America), and I will no doubt be safer than I'd be if I remained so close to Washington D.C., where you can't even defend yourself (now that's a depressing thought). I'm going to a "safe" zone in a war zone. I know there's a slight chance something could go wrong, more so with every game Congress plays their games, but I believe that the greatest risk is to not contribute, even in some small way. I believe everyone, in their own way, as much as they are able, CAN and DOES make a difference when they make a stand for what is right. Whether you are one person, or an entire nation, you can be go the extra mile, turn the tide, and accomplish what others call impossible. I believe we have been given a great opportunity to grow as a nation, to overcome tyranny, to bring freedom and bring light. Our responsibility lies in being the"city on a hill" that exists not to be taken, or divided up and handed to those not willing to pour their hearts into its existence, but in serving as a shining example of freedom to the world. A lot of Americans have forgotten that, but plenty of us, AND our friends around the world- have not. They know why freedom requires sacrifice, because they either know their history, have lived it, or are living it right now.

We have an obligation to do unto others as we would have them do unto us- I believe that applies not just to individuals, but to nations as well. I don't care what reason others had for going into Iraq, the point is we now have a duty to protect freedom there. I don't care what you say about "we can't police the world." That's a bunch of crap; isolationism doesn't work. Maybe we can't be everywhere at once, but we can make a difference instead of turning our backs and burying our heads. The troops know this, and give their all for it.

We fought in WWI and won. We fought in WWII and won. The only way to ensure our own existence and long-term survival is to bring freedom and democracy wherever we go, taking off blinders and making people aware of their inalienable rights with every step we take. We've lost sight of that as a nation, we "forgot" (or were manipulated into forgetting) how we relied on the help of others, and many forgot their American spirit, and we need to get it back. America, I leave you with that challenge, by God I ask you to re-forge this country so that it is in a better condition when I get back here one way or another!

I don't want to come back to see America continue to march towards destruction. I don't want to come back to see rights and freedoms continue to be stripped away by Congress, by the corrupt "activist" judges, or even by a new president who is another "lesser of two evils." I won't stand for it and neither should you. Put some work into it. Hold town meetings. Go door to door for Hunter (or whoever the cleanest candidate turns out to be- there's been too much filth in the White House to settle for a dirty politician). Make miles of petitions. Vote out the corruption and demand REAL reform. I'll be doing 12 hour shifts 7 days a week, leaving my family, friends, and everything I've ever known for at least a year. I beg you to do something to ensure this nation is protected from tyranny.

Well, that's about all the time I have for now. The next 3 weeks will consist of me wrapping up work projects, packing, tying up loose ends, and moving my wife and pets down to Fl to await my safe return (God willing). Good luck America, and God Bless!

As you know, if you know me or have been reading this, I've had to re-align my favorites for the 2008 election... a few times. As dirt surfaces, and as people say dumb things, I've had to keep re-analysing who will be the absolute best for the long-term best interests of America.

Right when finally I think my initial assessment of Tancredo being the best is solidified, he tries to bet his campaign on a baseball game. There's too much at stake for that. Maybe he just wanted some extra publicity, and to try to capture the hearts and minds of the Americans who don't have a clue (ie: the ones who care more about "reality TV" and celebrities doing dumb things than anything else). That took him down a notch in my book. He's still in the top three for me...

Hunter. He started as my number 3. He moved up to number 2 when I learned about Thompson's CFR ties. Thompson was dropped from the list. We can not afford to elect anyone with CFR ties. Hunter took the time to visit and speak at the Gathering of Eagles event. He made it clear we were at war with an ideology, and we could not afford to back down. He was a good speaker, and you could tell the issues were important to him, not just important to getting elected.

Thompson dropping from my list moved Huckabee up to number 3. Huckabee echoes the platforms of Tancredo and Hunter, so closely that I thought since he's the most popular of the underdogs he might be the best after all. Then some dirt surfaced. He's not my top pick for the absolute best, but he keeps saying the right things, and he's still in my top 3, if only because nobody else seems to be available...

Huckabee recently got an endorsement from Chuck Norris, on WorldNetDaily, and is still popular there.

So is another 9/11 possible?

He seems to have a good grasp of the situation, and his recent rise to front-runner status is encouraging, but I'm likely going to be keeping my fingers crossed for Hunter all the way. Huckabee might not be the cleanest, but he's not stupid either- and bottom line is, he's still better than the other front-runners... I hope that if he does manage to get in office, he'll choose Hunter (or even Tancredo) as a solid VP.

Previously, I had shared that Huckabee was not strict on immigration, but that was according to some lifted quotes from Coulter. Not saying they weren't credible, but after investigating Huckabee's site, I have to say I'm convinced he's taken a firm stance on securing the border and prosecuting and deporting illegals within our country- and keeping new ones from sneaking in.

His Issue Page- shows where he stands on the war on terror, ditching the IRS, being pro-life, and many other things that should appeal to the modern conservative.

I have my hopes for Tancredo or Hunter, but I'll add Huckabee to my list of acceptable candidates. Who knows, whoever gets it might appoint the others to key positions... that would be great!

However, there come a point when a decision needs made, and we can't have Hillary or Obama, or any of the other leftists... I don't want a RINO getting in either and leading us astray.

I feel that I wouldn't be compromising my integrity to vote for Huckabee. He, like Tancredo and Hunter, is not a CFR member. If enough of the conservatives are willing to back him over Thompson (as people seem more willing to do the more they learn about Thompson), he's probably got the best chance of securing the nomination and being the next president- and no I'm not just saying that because I've been working out on a Total Gym lately.

I have very good reasons for leaving out Ron Paul when I discuss our options for 2008. They primarily involve the long-term survival of our nation.
I leave out Ron Paul because he is as great a threat as the other front-runners; perhaps more so, in that he misleads so many to putting this nation on a road to hell- with the best of intentions. He would have us bury our heads in the sand while the islamofascists chop away at our necks. Any success in reforming government under Ron Paul would not last.

We are at war with islamofascism. They have stated their intent to kill us all, no matter what. Even if we leave the middle east, they will continue to attack. Look up their "perfect day" scenario. The enemy must be crushed, or in the long run, America, and our freedoms are doomed as we know it. Yes, we all have our guns, and would go down fighting, but there's a smarter way to do it- and maybe even prevent unnecessary bloodshed on our soil.

Thomas Jefferson had the Koran (that the islamist swore on) to study the enemy! He knew the threat- that's why he sent troops to Tripoli! After America tried and failed at being isolationist- to the point of PAYING TRIBUTE, he determined that peace would never be had. He declared millions for defense, but not one more cent for tribute!

EVERY peace treaty the islamists make, they break- you know why? Because they believe it's ok to lie to infidels, as we are nothing but apes and pigs to them. Living in the dark won't make the threat go away, it will just fester outside our borders and eventually overwhelm us. I do not doubt for one minute that there would be acts of patriotism and heroics in small groups- but in the end, we face a people who don't care about living or dying, or how many innocents they kill so long as their evil is spread and they dominate the world... and it would spread like wildfire without good Americans fighting that fire.

Yes, you'll hear some people spit terms like "American Imperialism" but in the end it's all about trying to make us give up and run away from a fight so they can declare victory in the name of Allah and double their recruiting- after all, if they can defeat the "Great Satan" (what they call us) once, then surely their masses will believe God is on their side. We can not afford to give them even an inch, yet Ron Paul would cede the world to them. That is why he is dangerous.

Look what they do to Israel EVERY time they give land for peace! How much of the rest of the world would you give over to tyranny for false peace? With every advance they make, and every resource they capture they gain more advantages and power to bring to bear against us. On our own soil they have already purchased 20% of NASDAQ. They bought large chunks of our resorts and casino businesses- so you're not just funding terrorism at the pump anymore. Their plan is multi-faceted and many of them are patient. Many want physical jihad against us now, others bide their time and are content with financial jihad (buying up America), legal jihad (suing people, limiting their freedoms, gaining power over courts)... Together, they spread terror over the world- fast and slow.

Shutting the doors and kicking out illegals is a good step, as would be being more strict on keeping our freedoms- but cutting us off from the rest of the world would be suicidal in the long run. Not as soon as some of the front-runners would make it, but an eventuality nonetheless. America is great, but if the world's resources were turned against us, it would be the END. It would make any Cold War MAD scenario look preferable.

There is a global resistance against islamist expansion and we must not abandon our friends to the enemy, or what kind of Americans would we be? Trust me, wouldn't you rather have Freedom and someone call us "imperialists" than have the REAL islamic imperialists in charge?

We were LOSING the Revolution, until one young man decided to go against his king's orders. He believed in liberty and America, so much so in fact that he spent his personal fortune to bring ships, guns, and men to our aid, risked his life on the battlefield time and again. America as we know it would not exist today were it not for foreign assistance and the "American" spirit of others- the spirit of Freedom. Similarly we have since devoted and given lives so others might know freedom. Unfortunately that process is never ending, so long as there are evil tyrants and brave men to fight them. I would hate to think the process would end because America had run out of the latter.

Should we cheapen ourselves now by turning into cowards and tucking our tails in the face of enemies on multiple fronts only to have them eventually overwhelm us down the road? Or should we face the enemy wherever they may be, and make them pay dearly for every inch of turf they would despoil- no matter where? Either we are America, and all that it was supposed to be, or we are not. Let there be no middle ground.

Try as I might to share the truth, too many people want to believe SO much that Thompson is our Great Conservative Hope. He is not.

Tancredo has the most solid record and conservative stance- He believes in the Constitution, but he won't be so isolationist to the point where the terrorists can do whatever they want in the rest of the world to gain strength and plot our eventual demise.

Huckabee isn't what we need either- he seems good natured, but... "He has compared illegal aliens to slaves brought here in chains from Africa, saying, "I think frankly the Lord is giving us a second chance to do better than we did before."

The over-hyped "front runners" are nothing more than different levels of the same thing. America doesn't need run down the same path, nor should we settle for walking down it. It's time to do some hard work to make sure we start heading the right direction to ensure our freedoms AND our future.

My Thoughts on Ron Paul- Think Ahead!

Paul doesn't fit. He would have us bury our heads in the sand and let everyone chop at our necks. We need someone who is firm on the Constitution, but without the short-sighted craziness. He looks great for short term planning, but if you look a few more years down the road there's still chaos. Perhaps no Hitlery nanny state, but we would still face global problems. Terrorists don't go away by themselves.

Tancredo is firm on more than one issue- go to his issues page, and you'll see. Same with Hunter. I can't say which would be better, but I think they are great men who would do wonderful things for this country, perhaps together, if given the chance.

Other people have great logical reasons for not supporting Paul- but the only reasons I hear against Tancredo and Hunter are "they don't have a chance" and that's just stupid. If they don't win it was because the people were once again duped and mislead into playing the media popularity contest and voting not for the right person, but the person they were told had the best chance of winning. Stand your moral ground! Take the time to consider the real long term possibilities of each candidate. This is not American Idol. Sound Bites do not save the world. This is more like chess and you have to think ahead!

Another school just ditched Halloween. One kid might feel left out. Someone might not be able to afford a costume. BS. You can't please everyone at once. You know what else? We were on welfare when I was little and my mom MADE my costume for kindergarten. She sewed a little and I was Pinnochio. Because of districting, many of the other kids had lots of money, yet creativity won out and I won the contest. *gasp* Looking back, I sure hope I didn't hurt anyone's feelings by winning... you know what? This is retarded. The kids just care about wearing a costume and eating TONS of sugar. When I was in school there were always a couple kids who didn't celebrate- they probably missed out on wearing a costume, but they got candy and didn't hold a grudge against everyone else because their parents didn't want them dressing up. At most, they would be asked where their costume was by a concerned kid. The kid without a costume would say they're not allowed to dress up, and someone would say, "aww, that's too bad. Hey, do you want to trade your bottle caps for my bubble gum?" or something along those lines... and that would be that.

Christmas, we all know about... Heck, even some muslim parents are saying they don't want our Christmas parties banned! Not everyone comes to America for the bland, sterile, leftist brainwaashing. Some actually want to appreciate OUR culture and our freedoms. Yes, many want to abuse our freedoms and take them away, but even more people are starting to see where that leads- corruption and cold, oppressive communism. I think there is still some REAL untapped hope here for Conservative America and Republicans- among the muslim community. Don't run screaming yet, I've not gone mad!

I've personally gathered some "local intel" I consider valuable: That many muslim families no longer give at mosques, or to muslim charities because they do not want to fund terrorists. Stopping that giving alone may not seem like much to you or I, but to them it is a huge deal, and don't forget, IT SAVES LIVES! But wait, there's more!

They hate the corruption in their home countries- where they would be killed for speaking out against it. Even after decades here in the states to learn about our government- they say that although we have corruption it is nowhere near as bad as the lands they left. They are proud of their American freedoms and don't want to see this country become like that which they fled... that's something I wish the immigrants from our southern border would take to heart!

Again, though their religion may advocate violence against us- a lot of people were "born muslims" meaning they follow a couple traditions because that's what they've been doing for a thousand years, but they don't actually "practice" it. Our only way to win the war here isn't just by stocking up on ammo for when SHTF, but with using reason, logic, and smiles, making and winning over friends who don't like where they came from, but don't necessarily want someone shoving a Bible in their face and telling them they're going to Hell- that doesn't save ANYONE, and it just scares people away and makes you look like a fruit. Heck, I'm a Conservative Christian and I find it particularly scary! ;-) I'm not saying pander- far from it, so keep reading!

As far as the school system goes, they don't like seeing a lot of the stuff taken out and substituted with teaching 2nd graders about homosexuality. They'd prefer an honest straightforward, and even Christian education to what the leftists are pushing which removes all reason, morals, and "cause and effect" from the system!

My assessment is that if someone could be a hardcore and blunt conservative politician and offer common American ground, the moderate muslim community could be a great tool and ally. I think many would support a Republican candidate in a heartbeat if someone would lay the cards on the table and publicly say, "I'm a Christian, I hate radical islam and the threat it poses to our country, and I, much like you of the moderate muslim community, want good morals in our society. The left wants us to surrender to the same sort of corruption most of you fled. I'm offering you a chance, as Americans, to have the same secure and free America that you came here looking for, in which you can be free to believe what you want without bringing harm to your fellow human beings." I would rather try to win them over to our side with logic, and plainly spoken conservative Christian morals (which actually DO appeal to them) than leave them vote for a democrat because they are scared of persecution.

They don't like the democrats because they kill babies, teach homosexuality, and are a reminder of the corruption in government they fled. Many families don't want catered to with public funds, because they know that money could be better spent on America as a whole... just as you or I would probably not think it right to take something we don't need/ are not entitled to- like welfare. It's stealing, and it's just as wrong to them as it is to us... we need to make these points and use them to get them on our side! No, it's not just for PSYOPS anymore!

They see the preferential treatment and the catering the illegals are getting from the leftists and they hate it as much as you or I. They learned the english language, just like many of our ancestors, because they want to be Americans. They hate seeing all the money wasted on posting everything in spanish. They hate to "press 1 for english." They worry about the illegals smuggling their anti-American culture, drugs, and violence across the border. They worry about terrorists smuggling something across the borders and want them secured too because it would threaten the peace they enjoy here! They've got just as much reason, if not more, for wanting the border secure. These days, most of us don't fear being rounded up and beaten or worse... something that's more likely to happen under a democrat anyway...

The enemy of my enemy, really could be our friend.

Like most people they are stuck trying to pick what is best for their families, so us conservatives are missing out on a great opportunity to gather support from a most unlikely source. There is a void that needs filled.

I know a lot of people will think I'm crazy for even suggesting it- but we actually have more in common with them than we do with the leftists and socialists who want us to surrender to radical islam!

Naysayers will say that we've been through worse as a country... We have not since our Revolution or Civil War faced such a threat- even then it can be argued that the threat now is greater- England just wanted us to remain a subjugated colony. We can argue over North and South, but in the end it was about government and slavery went away as a result of the North winning. The slavery we all would face under radical islam, the fall of democracy, or a "peaceful" invasion of illegals is far worse than the typical abuse of traditional tyrants. The violent crime in this nation has already skyrocketed. Imagine if you will, the future if we continue down this path. The entire country is already slowly bending under a multitude of external forces. It may take years more for the end result to reach you, but the things we set in motion now will determine that end result. Chances are you already know someone who has been hurt by these forces- yet we go about as if there is nothing to be done- not much better than the sheep we try to wake up, really.

Our borders have always been porous, but the terrorist threat is higher than ever. The Cuban Missile Crisis is a joke in comparrison with what we are in danger of with each passing day unless something proactive is done. We have become desensitized as a population- even here in our little "right-wing blogosphere" where we are less blinded than others.

The enemy has clearly stated their intentions. We are playing for keeps this round. Unless we are dead serious about playing catch-up with our security and defense with this next president, it may be too late by the next chance we have to vote someone into office. This also means paying close attention to who we vote into Congress. I'm not singling anyone out with this, but asking everyone to look inside and make darned sure you are voting for who you know is the right person to lead us, and not who "has a chance." Sure, it's a little more risky- but not if we are all in this together.

Modern "science" automatically black-lists anyone who even dares question a theory, or proposes to submit more data... End result? The American people, and the world, are not given the full picture- and thus true science is not taking place, and again we find the education system and countless minds manipulated and subsequently closed to reasonable discussion.

This is liberalism invading the classroom with their communist dictatorship, creating sheep- more prone to just swallow what the teachers tell them and resent anything different (contrary to the ficticious "open-mind" associated with them), than to question and explore. We've seen that elsewhere too haven't we?

To see what our soldiers are facing makes me angry. Where is the support they need? It's certainly not in congress, heck, even some military leadership if this is happening! I'm not saying all leadership is bad. I know that there are bound to be bad people in all sorts of place, but the military of all places should not have as many worries because every branch has an Honor Code and everyone takes an oath. That should count for something... but learning what honor and integrity are and living it are two different things.

I tried to post the following in comments but got an error message so here it is:

It's a sad day when I feel I have to confess to being a former officer(please don't hold it against me, lol). It was in my blood to join, and I knew how things should be, so one of my first lines to "my" MSgt when I, a Lt, reported in was, "I'm not one of the know-it-alls so your job is to keep me from screwing up. You're the one with the experience, so teach me and I'll listen."We got along just fine the next couple years and he had my back all the way- including when I stood up to the corrupt new SES who was appointed to "run things"

To make a long story short, my IG complaint got swept under the rug, the SES replaced me with an old Lt Col friend of his, I got "force-shaped," and my MSgt retired soon after. That's what I got for not being a "yes man" and trying to always do the right thing. I'd have transferred into the Army in a heartbeat, but the moldy basement office I had been working in gave me lung problems... (I'm doing fine on meds now though thanks to the VA (finally)- I'm not quite back up to a 6 min mile, but 8 isn't bad for not being able to run till recently). After I left, the basement got new carpet, new ceiling tiles, a fresh coat of paint, and turned into a little-used "training room."

So, now I sit in a cube doing something similar... not bad, it's fairly rewarding considering...but 3 years is not the 20-30 yr military career I dreamed of. I know God has a plan, but I really hate seeing corruption eat away at our country. It royally ticks me off to see the military, the honor of America, the gung-ho spirit of freedom, dragged around and dogged by filthy corrupt politicians who care nothing for honor. I won't call the whole officer corps bad, though there are quite a lot of decent people, who, like the "moderate muslims," keep their mouths shut and allow bad things to keep happening to good people so they don't get their hands dirty.

Can't blame them TOO much- after all, they have spouses and kids to feed (actually had a capt say that when he said what was happening to me was wrong "but... he couldn't speak up").but there comes a time when enough is enough and you have to put it on the line and make a stand against scum before everything this country is supposed to stand for gets sold off out from under us!I know a lot of good, honorable, men and women who were "let go" in the middle of the war, just to make some politicians happy.

We are the ones here in the states, joining the older vets in watching and waiting for the politicians to give this country over to the enemy, and we will fight back when they launch their insurgency on U.S. soil because though our terms of service expire our oaths to "protect and defend" NEVER do.

I read this in "What Went Wrong in America and How to Fix it" available on World Net Daily and meant to type it out for my blog, but Atlas did the dirty work for me! :-)

On Jan. 10, 1963, Congressman Albert S. Herlong Jr. of Florida read a list of 45 Communist goals into the Congressional Record. The list was derived from researcher Cleon Skousen’s book “The Naked Communist.” These principles are well worth revisiting today in order to gain insights into the thinking and strategies of much of our so-called liberal elite.

1. U.S. should accept coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.

2. U.S. should be willing to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.

These encapsulate the Kennan Doctrine, which advocated for the "containment" of communism. Establishment figures supporting the amoral containment policy at least implicitly worked with the communists in scaring the wits out of the American people concerning atomic war.
President Ronald Reagan undid the doctrine when he took an aggressive stand against the Evil Empire by backing freedom fighters from around the world that were struggling against the left-wing communist jackboot. As a result, the Soviet Union and its satellites imploded, a considerable and unexpected setback to the international communist edifice.

3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament by the U.S. would be a demonstration of "moral strength."
The nuclear freeze advocates supported a freeze on American nuclear development only. Rarely were Soviet nukes or those of other nations mentioned in their self-righteous tirades. The same advocates now call for reducing American military might, claiming that there is something immoral about America preserving its military pre-eminence in the world.

4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.

Today, there are calls to end the embargo on the slave island of Cuba, there were complaints about the embargo against Iraq, and the U.S., not Saddam Hussein, was blamed for the suffering of the Iraqi people. Would they have advocated for free trade with Hitler and his National Socialist regime? (note: China has "Most Favored Nation" status with us)

5. Extend long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.

6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.

Such aid and trade over decades contributed greatly to the left-wing communist liquidation of over 100 million people worldwide, according to the well-documented "Black Book of Communism."
This aid and trade marks a shameful chapter in American history. Without the aid and trade, the left-wing international communist behemoth would have imploded on its own rot a lot sooner and umpteen millions would have been saved from poverty, misery, starvation and death.
7. Grant recognition of Red China and admission of Red China to the U.N.

Not only did President Jimmy Carter fulfill this goal but he also betrayed America’s allies in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Iran, Afghanistan, Angola and elsewhere.

8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the Germany question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.

9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the U.S. has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.

10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.

11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces.

There are still American intellectuals, and elected members of Congress, who dream of an eventual one world government and who view the U.N., founded by communists such as Alger Hiss, the first secretary-general, as the instrument to bring this about.
World government was also the dream of Adolf Hitler and J.V. Stalin. World government was the dream of Osama bin Laden and the 9/11 hijackers.

12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.

13. Do away with loyalty oaths.

14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.

While the idea of banning any political party runs contrary to notions of American freedom and liberty, notions that are the exact opposite of those held by the left-wing communists themselves, nevertheless these goals sought to undermine the constitutional obligation of Congress to investigate subversion. The weakening of our government’s ability to conduct such investigations led to the attack of 9/11.
It is entirely proper and appropriate for our government to expect employees, paid by the American taxpayer, to take an oath of loyalty. (note: An islamist took an oath on the koran Thomas Jefferson was using to study the islamist threat)

15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the U.S.

In his book "Reagan’s War," Peter Schweizer demonstrates the astonishing degree to which communists and communist sympathizers have penetrated the Democratic Party. In his book, Schweizer writes about the presidential election of 1979. (note: fast forward- why are the Republican "front-runners" pushed by the media? Why do they have shady pasts? Why are the candidates with REAL integrity (Tancred, Hunter) shunned?)

16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions, by claiming their activities violate civil rights.

This strategy goes back to the founding of the American Civil Liberties Union by Fabian Socialists Roger Baldwin and John Dewey and Communists William Z. Foster and Elizabeth Gurley Flynn among others. (note: pretty much every major case in the news)

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for Socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers associations. Put the party line in textbooks. (note: self-evident, I don't even need a note here)

18. Gain control of all student newspapers. (note: "open-mindedness" "multiculturalism" and "PC" nonsense abound because that is what is drilled into students. They never had a chance!).

19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations that are under Communist attack.

The success of these goals, from a communist perspective, is obvious. Is there any doubt this is so?

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.

21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV & motion pictures.

22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all form of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings," substituting shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.

23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. " Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art." (note: look at what passes for art! I can hear pseudo-intellectuals now, "Oh, that lump of poo is so expressive of the artists feelings!")

24.Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio and TV.

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural and healthy."

This is the Gramscian agenda of the "long march through the institutions" spelled out explicitly: gradual takeover of the "means of communication" and then using those vehicles to debauch the culture and weaken the will of the individual to resist. Today those few who still have the courage to advocate public morality are denounced and viciously attacked. Most Americans are entirely unwitting regarding the motives behind this agenda.

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch."

This has been largely accomplished through the communist infiltration of the National Council of Churches, Conservative and Reform Judaism, and the Catholic seminaries. (note: The gov't has special controls, regulations, and codes, over most churches.).

28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the grounds that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state"
Replacing belief in the creator with belief in the earthly man-controlled State.

29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
And replace our nation of "laws, not men" with royal decree emanating from appointed judges and executive orders. Replace elected officials with bureaucrats.

30. Discredit the American founding fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man." (note: Lafayette is erased from the history books, despite being George Washington's right hand man and pretty much adopted son! He was an aristocrat who risked his life to come here and fund the revolution with his own money and fight without pay, leading men into pitched battles, getting wounded, returning home, and being thrown in prison. ALL FOR LOVE OF THE COMMMON MAN!)

31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of "the big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

Obliterating the American past, with its antecedents in principles of freedom, liberty and private ownership is a major goal of the communists then and now. (note: more brain-washing in school to create more sheep)

32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture – education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
Public ownership of the means of production, the core principle of totalitarianism.

33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.

34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI. (note: DHS anyone?)

36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

Turn America into a socialist police state.

38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand or treat.

The Soviets used to send "social misfits" and those deemed "politically incorrect" to massive mental institutions called gulags. The Red Chinese call them lao gai. Hitler called them concentration camps.

39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose communist goals.
Psychiatry remains a bulwark of the communist agenda of fostering self-criticism and docility.

40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

Done! The sovereign family is the single most powerful obstacle to authoritarian control. (note: marriage has lost its meaning in society- what was valued as life-long is now convenient to throw away! Some ranking european socialists even want marriages that expire after 8 years!)

41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

Outcome-based education, values clarification or whatever they’re calling it this year. (Hillary's book - "It Takes a Village") (note: Look how quickly they'll try to take kids away for teaching them right and wrong, or homeschooling. Remember that girl in Germany? It could soon happen here!)

42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special interest groups should rise up and make a "united force" to solve economic, political or social problems.

This describes the dialectical fostering of group consciousness and conflict, which furthers the interests of authoritarianism. (note: the terrorists want insurgent warfare, and there were certainly plenty of traitors calling for violent revolution on the protest of 15 September 2007!)

43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.
The results of this successful campaign are increasingly obvious in the world today.

44. Internationalize the Panama Canal. (note: look it up)

45. Repeal the Connally Reservation so the U.S. cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction over nations and individuals alike.

This would mark a complete subversion of our Constitution and an end to representative sovereign government as we know it, which is the whole idea.

They've already managed to do a lot of this. I don't have time to make notes for each, and most of my notes aren't even necessary. Just look around you!

Back on Aug. 9, I told you about the case of Christy Freeman, an Ocean City, Md., mother suspected of killing her newborn, or possibly unborn, baby in 2004 along with three others.
The remains of the children were all found at her home last month.
At first, investigators didn't know what to charge her with. Finally, they decided murder was the appropriate crime.
But, though the bodies of these victims were found in her possession, how could it be proved she killed them after birth? That was the question. If she killed them one minute before they were born, she was home free because Maryland, like many other states, expressly protects women who murder their own unborn children for any reason or no reason at all.

Do you really want to make the argument this activist judicial ruling didn't cheapen life in America?
The case began when Freeman, a taxi driver and mother of four offspring who survived her household, went to the hospital after giving birth. Police searched her home for the baby and found a recently deceased infant under the bathroom sink. They also found three more sets of older baby remains, two in a trunk in the living room and one in a recreational vehicle parked outside the house of horrors.
When an examination found the fresh remains were from a stillborn, prosecutors dismissed murder charges. But they also charged her with killing one of the other children found in the trunk. Investigators believe she gave birth to twins on a toilet in 2004 and allowed one of them to die.
But now that charge, too, has been thrown out.
No crime, no punishment. Presumably, Freeman will be permitted to play devoted mother to the four surviving children.
The case hasn't received much publicity outside the area. No wonder. I don't think most journalists know what to make of such a case. After all, there weren't supposed to be people like Freeman anymore – not after abortion was made "safe and legal." Contraception was supposed to free women of unwanted pregnancies, and taxpayer-subsidized abortions were supposed to ensure that messiness like this would never be necessary.
Yet, here it is – staring us in the face.
There's a slight chance you might see Freeman's face flashed on the news. But there's no chance you will ever see the gruesome images of those four little ones whose lives were snuffed out.
And that's why it remains so easy for America to tolerate this national crime, this national shame, this national sin known as abortion on demand.
As I wrote last month about this case: "God knows what possessed Freeman to do what she did. Men and women have always done evil things and always will. It's their nature. And that is why government has a responsibility to rein in the worst of man's excesses – to keep us, at a minimum, from killing one another, to protect the innocent."
I also wrote: "It will be interesting if it turns out that no crime was committed. It's quite possible that four dead babies in your house is nothing more than, say, a health code violation, thanks to Roe v. Wade."
About this, I was wrong. It's not even a health-code violation. It's not even a reason to remove children from your care.
It's simply a non-event.
I really hate to say it, but I told you so.

My thoughts:
If Syria and Iran are playing with VX and Sarin, it does not bode well for anyone there. For those of you who remember The Rock, exposure to these things has got to be one of the worst ways to die. News of someone making it, much less intending to use it, should scare the world into action... Especially since Sarin has a relatively short shelf-life of weeks, thus if you're making it, you're probably intending to use it pretty soon. VX is more persistant (meaning it lasts longer) and just as lethal.

For those who don't remember/aren't familiar with this nasty stuff, here's some info from wikipedia:
Initial symptoms following exposure to sarin are a runny nose, tightness in the chest and constriction of the pupils. Soon after, the victim has difficulty breathing and experiences nausea and drooling. (not too bad so far, right...)

As the victim continues to lose control of bodily functions, he vomits, defecates and urinates. This phase is followed by twitching and jerking. Ultimately, the victim becomes comatose and suffocates in a series of convulsive spasms.
Sarin is a highly volatile liquid. Inhalation and absorption through the skin pose a great threat. Even vapour concentrations immediately penetrate the skin. People who absorb a nonlethal dose (remember even a small amount can be lethal) but do not receive immediate appropriate medical treatment may suffer permanent neurological damage.

Gathering of Eagles (Anti-Protest in DC) My Story and Pics

My coverage of the Gathering of Eagles really begins on my metro ride. I met a retired Air National Guard major who had a sign with the number of troops killed on it. He was from veterans for peace. He told me we had no business in Iraq and proceeded to brag about how he had actually been and stayed with a soldier standing guard at night, and then tell me he wasn't bragging. I explained we are at war with an ideology and that whatever the reasons behind us going into Iraq, removing a dictator who used WMDs on his own people was a good thing, and that for us to leave now would be a sign of weakness to encourage the enemy. There's no easy way out. He said just nuke the whole middle east, but there's no reason to have our troops over there getting picked off. At first I thought he was being sarcastic, so I was going to continue the discussion... he then told me again that we needed to drop nukes. I told him that if he said that to the people he was going to be standing with, they'd turn on him in a heartbeat! Anyway...
What a day it would be!

At 9AM on 15 September, 2007 thousands of patriots gathered at the National Mall today to rally in support of the troops. We heard moving songs from Americans with wonderful voices, and even heard from a Congressman whose son is in the Army.

I had the opportunity to meet some other bloggers in person from Right on the Right, Passionate America, Cathousechat, Satinpatriot, Protest Warrior, Concrete Bob, Mark Levin Fan, Radioactive Liberty, and many more!

The real stars of the show, however, were the Blue Stars and Gold Stars who gave their heartfelt stories of their family members serving in Iraq, or who served and gave the ultimate sacrifice so others could have freedom.

A leftist infiltrated our group and unfortunately had her anti-American sign taken away and torn up. I am a firm believer that this is a free country and you have the right to free speech, even if it's uninformed.

However, I wish people would be more understanding of the poor old Vietnam Vets who have been through hell only to be spat upon. I have met many people who lost all of their friends winning a war, only to be turned upon by their country when politicians quit and as a result everything they fought for is lost, and the innocents they defended were slaughtered.

I managed to make my way through the crowd and hand her a slip of paper with www.thereligionofpeace.com on it. I hope she visits the site and learns what we are truly facing. I hope she learns of the "Perfect Day" scenario and the violent slaughter the islamists plan to unleash upon us... Of the hundreds of protesters I would later tell of that site, I hope at least a handful investigate and see how they have been misled. I'd like to take the time to note that she was quickly surrounded by our own security (Orange Shirts) for her protection until the park police could come. She was never in danger, and I doubt you could say the same of anyone who would have been crazy enough to venture into the leftists territory.

I ran into this guy, who as it turns out is a pastor turned activist (protest warrior), who wandered around throughout the day playing a parody of a terrorist, claiming to love the peace activists for making his job easy for him. His sign says, "Terrorist for Peace!"

Around noon we were going to make our way to the street, lining it on either side anticipating the arrival of a mass of protesters, any minute...but the protesters must have slept in because they did not show up until around 2. Some small groups came about an hour before then to invade our space. You can see Code Pink on the left here. As Code Pink was on "our turf" they had to make do with a patriot's sign behind them in the photos the news crews and others were taking. They sang a 60s protest song as they made their way to the other side of the street where I was standing with other flag waving patriots. An idea came to me and I ran around tapping my fellow Americans on their shoulders saying "Star Spangled Banner on my mark" and what started out with me and a handful of others swelled into at least 50 voices, raised together in solidarity to show that America still has a spirit of patriotism.

Later, a Vietnam Veteran charged out to where Code Pink was obstructing traffic and taunting us to grab their banner. Security was on him quickly, but kindly, and to their credit they called him sir and were gentle in ushering him back to our side. I can only imagine how hard it is for that soldier, and countless others who went through so much, only to see this new generation turn on America and want to give up all of our freedoms to communism, and the terrorist threats we face.

There are those however, who appreciate the freedoms they have, and they know that freedom is not free.

I was in shock at the number of radicals who would eventually flood the street calling not just for the end to the war, or even the impeachment of the president, but for "one world under red" by those carrying communist banners. Others carried anarchist banners.

Others still wore scarves over their faces to hide their identities. Through it all, we kept our flags and spirits high, as we all tried to get through to them in our own way with a bit of reason- that we must not give up, or we are doomed to fighting an islamic insurgency here.

We gave peace a chance, but there is no peace possible with a people who believe they will be rewarded for lying to us and breaking treaties, cheating us, stealing from us, and killing us. There is no golden rule in their ideology that applies to Americans who are not muslims.

It saddened me to see children manipulated and brainwashed into thinking that peace could be so simply attained against an enemy who, if given the chance, would butcher our children, much as they did the children in Beslan, but I called out over the hatred, called till my voice was hoarse, asking them to read the truth about "the religion of peace." I hope someone was listening.

I know I may have at least gotten through to a member of the press. Angela Starke, with ABC 7 News was there covering the event. She had no idea there was to be a counter-protest by the Gathering of Eagles. Some vets were asking her why we got no coverage in the news and she kept saying she didn't know because nobody told her. She said that there are over 200 people in the newsroom, and if someone takes a call and doesn't care, that's not her fault. It's sad to think that reporters don't do much digging, and only run with what they're given, but she explained she's kept very busy covering murders and other stories- so I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. I asked her if she knew about the protest in Brussels and what happened there- she did not know... I told her the story, and I told her of Beslan, and what was done there, and of the Perfect Day scenario- and gave her addresses to this blog, Gates of Vienna, and www.thereligionofpeace.com She pledged to do some research on radical islam and promised she would make herself available- going so far as to provide me with her personal contact information in the event I became aware of anything that needed covered. I hope and pray she investigates and uncovers the truth that so many veterans and analysts have, and I hope and pray she spreads it to the masses so that we can be united as a nation in the face of what can only be called evil.

People came from all over the country, (many as part of a 4636 mile caravan) and even outside the country, to show their support for the troops. If you weren't there, please try to make it next time. As long as there are those who would deface our monuments, as long as there are those who would march to see America fall to tyranny, there will be eagles watching and waiting.
